Avocado Crema!

Avocados are good, I mean really good. Not only are avocados healthy and full of much needed healthy fats but avocados actually taste good; in my humble opinion it feels like avocados should be a cheat. I usually like to eat avocados plain or in the form of homemade quacamole (see my recipe for that too!) but I saw something on pinterest that caught my eye called Avocado Crema.
The woman posting about her adventures in South America talked about how they put avocado crema on fish tacos and she thought it was just devine. She mentioned how easy it would be to make and put it on her to-do list. The contents of this delicatable crema are avocados, cilantro, onion and sour cream. This does sound devine, but I thought about how I could make it healthier.

I searched online and saw several people used greek yogurt instead of sour cream and that sounded perfect! If I was going to smother my chicken in something, it typically needs to be healthy. I decided to try out this idea and LOVED the results. I actually make it twice a week now, I practically can't eat chicken without it.
Need:
2 large avocados
1 small spoonful(like a tablespoon) of sour cream or greek yogurt
1 tablespoon of fresh cilantro
1/2 cu of chopped onion/garlic
1 small lime
So I took the avocados and mashed them up with the cilantro, fresh cilantro, onion & garlic and sprinkled the lime over it. This is my basic guacamole strategy, where it differs was I put a small amount of greek yogurt in and mixed it. I tasted before I put more because sometimes greek yogurt can have a strong taste and that isn't what I was looking for, I wanted it to taste like a creamy avocado dip that had some added protein. So I suggest putting small amounts in and testing out the flavor. I tended to put more lime juice after I added the yogurt in just to keep the flavor the way I liked.

My husband and I tasted it and couldn't believe how healthy and delicious it was. I mixed it in with shredded chicken and beans and you would've thought I went to heaven. The great thing was we had left over crema so it actually lasted us through 3 meals and cost maybe 3 dollars to make.
If you're looking for a healthy way to add some extra flavor to your food, I strongly suggest trying out this recipe, it's hard to go wrong with avocados!
